FAVEA has took part in Azerbaijan-Czech business forum

An official government delegation of Czech Republic headed by the Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Jan Mladek visited capital of Azerbaijan Baku from 16 to 18 January.

Program of the visit included Azerbaijan-Czech business forum arranged by AZPROMO (Azerbaijan Foundation for Promotion of Export and Investments) and Komora SNS (Chamber of Trade and Industry for CIS Countries), session of intergovernmental panel on economic and scientific-technical cooperation and bilateral talks between Czech and Azerbaijan businessmen.

Visit of the official Czech Republic delegation to Azerbaijan was accompanied by a group of Czech businessmen including Chairman of the Board of Directors of FAVEA Group Mr. Maxim Khamet.

Summarizing the trip to Baku Maxim Khamet said the following: “Pharmaceutical market of Azerbaijan is one of new high-priority regions for enlargement of FAVEA’s commercial interests. We opened representative office in Baku in 2016. Our short-term plans include creation of local project group and subsequent customers support service. In August FAVEA held in Baku training course “Latest changes in GMP EU requirements and code of good practices» for employees of Azerbaijan Ministry of Public Health, Center of Analytical Expertise, pharmaceutical companies and distributors of medical products. Azerbaijan gives us great opportunities to design and create new pharmaceutical production facilities, to transfer up-to-date technologies from European Union and to train personnel to work on new production sites. In September 2016 FAVEA specialists audited three production sites located in Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, in Pirallahi and in Special Economic Zone “Port Alyat” to determine best terms and conditions for deployment of pharmaceutical cluster. Today two international resident companies planning to create new “turn-key” pharmaceutical production facilities are registered in Pirallahi. FAVEA specialists maintain permanent contacts with employees of both companies and are planning to start design of new production facilities within next few months. Pharmaceutical cluster on SEZ “Prot Alyat” will be created a little bit later – from 2020 to 2025. Today works on creation of common infrastructure are vigorously conducted. In 2015 Azerbaijan Government adopted strategic program of major structural changes aimed at decrease of country’s economy dependence on oil industry. Creation of new pharmaceutical industry is treated as one of the most important priorities for this program implementation”.
